Zaplox, a digital guest solutions provider, has announced the introduction of NFC mobile keys in Google Wallet at Strawberry’s Clarion Hotel Post in Sweden.
This development is said to position the hotel as the first in the world to offer mobile keys in both Google Wallet and Apple Wallet, using NFC technology.

The new offering allows guests to add their room key to Google Wallet, enabling them to unlock their room and access other hotel facilities with their digital key.
In 2023, Zaplox first entered a partnership to create a proof of concept for mobile keys in Google Wallet at Google's Bay View Suites in Mountain View, California.
This leveraged the existing BLE technology.
This is said to be the initial phase of a partnership that led to the introduction of mobile keys at Clarion Hotel Post.
The company further noted that the recent launch is said to be a result of Zaplox’s partnership with Google, Vingcard, and NXP Semiconductors.

This system is compatible with Vingcard door locks and the Vostio Access Management system by Vingcard.
The latest announcement comes shortly after Radisson Hotel Group's collaboration with Zaplox to introduce digital keys, in June 2024.
