Vacances (s) Pte (Club Med) and PT. Indonesian Paradise Property Tbk (Paradise Indonesia) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in Jakarta to develop resorts in Indonesia, as reported by HospitalityNet.

The agreement was formalised at Residence OnFive, Grand Hyatt Jakarta, which is a business unit of Paradise Indonesia.

It was signed by Paradise Indonesia president, director and CEO Anthony Prabowo Susilo and Club Med CEO of East and South Asia and Pacific markets Rachael Harding.

Susilo said: “We are thrilled to announce our strategic partnership with Club Med.

“This joint venture aims to unveil a series of developments that will not only foster mutual growth for both companies but also bring about substantial benefits to the local communities and areas in which we build. Our united vision is to cultivate sustainable and enriching experiences for all.”

The MoU will see the two corporations create upscale all-inclusive resorts in Indonesia, targeting modern travellers.

This partnership is expected to unfold in multiple phases, with an initial target of more than five new resorts.

In the first phase, three resorts are planned for development within the next five years.

The three resorts will be developed in important tourist locations of North Sulawesi, Bali and West Java.

This partnership aims to improve Indonesia’s tourism index ranking and draw tourists from both within the country and abroad.

The development in each location is also expected to benefit the local community.

Club Med, a premium all-inclusive pioneer with 73 years of experience, has operations in 40 countries worldwide and has about 70 premium and exclusive collection resorts.

Presently, the company has two resorts in Indonesia: Club Med Bali and Club Med Bintan.

Paradise Indonesia, with 30 years of experience, comprises 25 business units across eight cities in Indonesia.
