Club Med, a global brand under Fosun Tourism Group, has opened what it claims to be the world’s first urban oasis resort called Club Med Urban Oasis Xianlin Nanjing Resort in China.

The opening coincided with the Urban Vacation Development Forum, organised by Fosun and the announcement of the global launch of Club Med Urban Oasis at the new resort.

Fosun Tourism Group vice chairman and co-chief executive officer and Club Med president Henri Giscard d'Estaing said: “With the rapid growth of urban vacation demand in China, Club Med has innovated a new product line of urban-themed vacation, Urban Oasis, for city tourists through differentiated positioning and consistent high-quality service.

“Nanjing, renowned for its scenic beauty and rich historical heritage, presents the ideal location for the world's first urban oasis resort. We believe Xianlin Nanjing Resort will become a new trendy destination, contributing to the city's social and economic growth.”

Located in the centre of Nanjing, the resort offers a 1,200m² indoor heated water park, an outdoor explore park, an outdoor water screen light show, sports activities and a U Bar.

It also provides entertainment for kids as well as education through programmes such as Mini Club, Club Med Amazing Family and Mini Camp.

Continuing the Club Med tradition, the Xianlin Nanjing Resort is offering a "Premier All-Inclusive" gentle organisers concept to provide professional and international services to guests.

Club Med Urban Oasis Xianlin Nanjing Resort is located 30 minutes from downtown Nanjing and Nanjing South railway station.

It is also 500m from Huitong Road Station of Nanjing Metro Line 4, making it the first Club Med resort to have direct access to a metro.

Guests at the property also have access to attractions such as Purple Mountain, Tangshan Mountain, Qixia Mountain and Yanziji.

At the opening ceremony, the resort received signed T-shirts as gifts from consuls representing South Korea, France, Thailand and the Philippines.

Additionally, Club Med announced the launch of a charity programme called "Health of the Warm Heart of the Village Doctor" to aid rural areas and village doctors in China.

For every booking, Club Med will donate two yuan ($0.27) to this project, which is co-sponsored by the Fosun Foundation and the China Population Welfare Foundation.

Currently, Club Med has 70 resorts across 26 countries and regions.
