Opening in AlUla's Old Town on 21 January 2024, Dar Tantora The House Hotel is set to emerge as a cultural haven 35km from AlUla International Airport.

Built from historically authentic materials and using ancient techniques, the carefully restored mud-brick eco-community stands as a tangible connection to the historical and artistic wonders in the heart of AlUla's Old Town.

The Old Town is a UNESCO [United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation]-recognised part of the AlUla Old Town Village in Saudi Arabia. This has been named Best Tourism Village by the United Nations World Tourism Organisation and still contains remnants of its original stone and mudbrick structures.

The 10th-century citadel overlooks the town and oasis. AlUla Old Town features restaurants, pop-up performances and a local craft market.

Dar Tantora The House Hotel aspires to be AlUla's premier low-impact hotel, cultivating immersive experiences that foster deep connections between guests and locals.

Kerten Hospitality's commitment to safeguarding the community's architecture, agricultural practices, craftsmanship, traditions and culture is evident in the hotel's design and operation.

Preserving AlUla's natural heritage

Sustainability takes centre stage at Dar Tantora The House Hotel, aligning with Kerten Hospitality's environmental, social and governance philosophy: "United. Building a Better Universe."

The hotel stands as a flagship property for Kerten's sustainable hospitality strategy, preserving AlUla's ancient aesthetic and building techniques.

Energy-saving measures, automated food waste and water management solutions underscore the commitment to environmental responsibility.

Art and culture: an evolving tapestry

In collaboration with the Royal Commission of AlUla, Dar Tantora The House Hotel has engaged local artists to complement AlUla's distinct artistic heritage.

Traditional elements, furniture and artworks seek to encapsulate AlUla's rich cultural heritage, with room amenities designed by the Madrasat Addeera, AlUla's craft school dedicated to fostering artisanal skills.

Bespoke cultural experiences

Guests in the 30-room hotel can partake in daily cultural activities led by local artisans, including fresh bread-making and Saudi coffee-brewing.

Weekly and monthly traditions such as ancient games and artisanal craft-making provide guests with a deep dive into the region's cultural roots.

Bespoke tours and curated experiences led by local guides, known as rawis, offer an opportunity for discovery, learning and sharing.

With an infinity pool providing exclusive oasis views, spa treatments using locally grown ingredients and culinary experiences by Michelin-starred chef Jaume Puigdengolas, Dar Tantora The House Hotel offers a unique blend of cultural immersion and luxury.

A global focus on culture and environment

Kerten Hospitality's expansion into key markets such as Saudi Arabia, France, Italy and the United Arab Emirates reflects a dedication to creating spaces that go beyond being just a place to stay.

Seamlessly blending luxury with cultural and environmental consciousness, Kerten Hospitality brings its unique brand of hospitality to diverse landscapes while respecting local traditions and needs.
