Disney Vacation Club has opened its 16th property, The Villas at Disneyland Hotel, in the US state of California, inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios.

The property is the first new tower since 1979 at the Disneyland Hotel.

It also marks the first Disney Vacation Club property at Disneyland Resort following the opening of The Villas at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa in 2009.

Disney Vacation Club senior vice-president and general manager Bill Diercksen said: “The Villas at Disneyland Hotel celebrates the remarkable legacy of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ storytelling and the creative process these talented artists go through to bring Disney characters to life from sketch to screen.”

“With imaginative details and spacious accommodations, this beautiful new tower is the perfect place for families to create magical vacation memories for years to come.”

The tower’s official opening was attended by Bill Diercksen and Dan Coleman, general manager of the Disneyland Hotel, along with Disney cast members and characters from Disney stories.

The 12-storey tower offers 344 themed guest rooms, including duo studios, deluxe studios, one and two-bedroom villas and multi-level grand villas catering to both large and small families.

Each room boasts elements from various Disney films, such as The Jungle Book, The Princess and the Frog, Sleeping Beauty, Fantasia, etc.

The property’s lobby features a mural created by Disney Animation artist Lorelay Bové.

Guests can enjoy facilities such as the new Palette pool and the Steamboat Willie splash pad, which features a Mickey Mouse statue along with fountains, waterfalls and misty fog effects.

Located a short distance from the Disneyland Resort theme parks, the property also features a Palm Breeze Bar, which serves snacks and drinks. This bar will open shortly.

The new amenities can be accessed by both Disney Vacation Club members and guests staying at the Disneyland Hotel.

Guests can also enjoy the Disneyland Hotel’s current facilities, which include restaurants, lounges, shops and swimming pools.

The tower is a few steps away from Disneyland Park, the Downtown Disney District and Disney California Adventure Park.
