UK-based specialist business property adviser Christie & Co has facilitated the sale of the Driftwood Hotel in Cornwall to a group of private investors.

Paul and Fiona Robinson, owners of the property for the past 22 years, listed the property for sale at the beginning of this year, as they prepare to retire.

Financial details of the deal remain undisclosed.

Paul and Fiona Robinson said: “Whilst we have mixed emotions about leaving Driftwood, it has been an amazing journey and we would like to thank all our guests, many whom of have become friends over the years, for their support and of course, our wonderful staff.”

The Driftwood Hotel, situated along the South West Coastal Path, offer sea views over Gerrans Bay and features a private beach.

The New England-inspired hotel includes 14 rooms, a restaurant, and a three-bedroom owner’s house.

It is set within approximately five acres of landscaped gardens.

Christie & Co South West Hotels director Stephen Champion said: “Driftwood Hotel’s iconic location on the stunning Roseland Peninsula and fantastic reputation helped generate significant interest in this genuinely unique opportunity.

“We are delighted to see the business sell to an operator who plans to put further investment into the site to enhance its current offering.”

This sale follows Christie & Co's listing of the Loch Kinord Hotel in Aberdeenshire.

With a guide price of £1.25m, the Loch Kinord Hotel is said to be a ‘profitable’ business situated next to the Muir of Dinnet Nature Reserve in Dinnet.
