Dusit Hotels and Resorts, the hotel arm of Dusit International, has announced the transformation of its flagship property, the Dusit Thani Bangkok Hotel in Thailand.
It is scheduled to reopen in September 2024, following the renovation as part of the Dusit Central Park, a mixed-use development located opposite Lumpini Park in Bangkok.
The reimagined Dusit Thani Bangkok will feature 257 guest rooms and suites, starting at 50m².
Each room will offer views of Lumpini Park through floor-to-ceiling windows, alongside seating nooks.
The hotel’s upgrades extend to an urban wellness concept, curated dining experiences and a multilevel rooftop bar.
For business and social events, the hotel will offer more than 5,000m² of meeting and banqueting facilities, including what is claimed to be one of Bangkok’s largest grand ballrooms.
This grand ballroom will have an 8m-high ceiling.
The Dusit Thani Bangkok’s transformation also includes a diverse selection of meeting spaces that can accommodate both intimate gatherings and large-scale events.
In a nod to the hotel’s heritage, artworks by local artists and handcrafted teakwood decor from the original property have been incorporated into the new design.
Dusit Thani Bangkok managing director Adrian Rudin said: “We are thrilled to unveil the new Dusit Thani Bangkok and countdown to our opening this September.
“This is not just a rebuild; it’s a rebirth. We’ve woven our rich legacy into the fabric of contemporary design and cutting-edge experiences, crafting a truly transformative destination that will delight longtime fans of the original property and discerning new generations of travellers alike.”
The Dusit Central Park development will introduce Dusit Residences and Dusit Parkside, an office tower, a high-end retail centre, and an expansive 11,200m² Roof Park.
These additional components are all expected to open next year.
This comes after Dusit Hotels and Resorts ventured into southern Thailand with the announcement of the soft opening of Dusit Princess Phatthalung in January this year.
This marks the 15th Dusit-branded property in the country.
