Dubai-based Dutco Group has bought Mar Hall Hotel, Golf and Spa Resort in Bishopton, Scotland, with plans to enhance and expand the site.

This acquisition is supported by Align Partners, an investment and asset management company.

The deal comes after the hotel was placed in administration in August this year.

A £15m ($16.39m) investment has been committed for the expansion and makeover of the five-star hotel that is located on a 240-acre woodland estate.

The renovation work is scheduled to start in early 2024.

The work will include building new woodland lodges and revamping the hotel's leisure and spa facilities, guest rooms, and public areas.

The architect and interior designer for the renovation work are anticipated to be hired in January.

Dutco Group CEO Nelson Gibb said: “This is our first hotel acquisition in Scotland which is recognised as a world-class destination for hospitality. This deal is testament to our confidence in Mar Hall and what we believe we can achieve through targeted and creative investment.

Dutco Group currently has luxury hotels, including Cameron House and Gleneagles in Scotland.
