Wyndham Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of the first ECHO Suites Extended Stay hotel in Spartanburg, South Carolina, US.
The new all-suite hotel has 124 rooms, featuring a mix of single and two-queen studio suites, each equipped with a kitchen.
ECHO Suites Spartanburg is designed to maximise revenue-generating space, with 79% of its approximately 50,000ft² dedicated to guest use.
Guest amenities include a lobby, fitness centre, and round-the-clock guest laundry facilities, all designed to reduce staffing requirements.
This launch marks another milestone for the brand, which has seen its development pipeline expand to nearly 270 hotels and over 33,000 rooms across the US and Canada.
With the Spartanburg opening, ECHO Suites is on course to have 75 hotels operational or in development by the end of 2026, and a target of 300 open hotels by 2032.
ECHO Suites Spartanburg owner Philip Cox said: "Spartanburg, like many other cities around the country, is booming with projects that require long-term, comfortable and affordable stays.
“ECHO Suites is the answer with a well-designed prototype created with the operator in mind. Plus, when you add in the collaboration with the world’s largest hotel franchisor, it’s a perfect match.”
In addition, Wyndham has appointed Mandeep Singh as extended stay operations vice president.
With more than two decades of international experience in extended-stay hotels and related sectors, Singh will steer Wyndham's extended-stay portfolio, focusing on ECHO Suites and the new Waterwalk Extended Stay by Wyndham brand.
Earlier this month, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts rolled out its new guest engagement platform, Wyndham Connect to franchise owners in North America.
