EDITION Hotels has announced that its first property in Southeast Asia, The Singapore Edition, opened in preview on 9 November 2023.

Conceived and orchestrated by Ian Schrager in partnership with interior design company Cap Atelier, the hotel offers 204 rooms spread across six floors.

The hotel’s white marbled lobby features a domed ceiling covered with gold leaf and a staircase that leads to the garden courtyard level, including a bar lounge.

The courtyard, surrounded by black-tiled pools and a garden, offers space for guests to enjoy cocktails and have receptions.

Guests can dine at FYSH at EDITION, led by Australian restaurateur Josh Niland. It serves a seafood-focused steakhouse menu.

The main dining room, anchored by a custom-made marble bar, seats 80 guests, while an outdoor pergola offers seating for an additional 44 diners.

The hotel’s Punch Room serves a punch cocktail menu inspired by Southeast Asian spices alongside bar snacks. The Roof bar offers a semi-al fresco setting and provides access to a 43 metre pool that is claimed to seem like a white space vessel over the garden courtyard nine floors below.

Meanwhile, the hotel’s Lobby Bar features a rose-coloured pool table.

The hotel boasts a leafy conservatory, housing over 300 plants and 162 suspended preserved fern spheres from Southeast Asia and can accommodate 22 guests.

It also has an 81m² boardroom next to a 600m² event space, which has a capacity for 340 guests and can be divided into three smaller sections, all situated on the courtyard level.

Among the other amenities provided at the property include a spa situated on the second floor, seven treatment rooms, a sauna, thermal pools and a gym.

Additionally, EDITION’s list of upcoming openings this year includes Riviera Maya in Kanai, Mexico and another in Tokyo Ginza.

Gen Z and their impact on the travel and tourism industry

Gen Z has been called the most disruptive generation ever by Bank of America, and its influence is on the rise at a time of great uncertainty. Gen Z's focus on local and micro-tourism is reshaping the industry towards a more sustainable, community-centric, and culturally enriching approach to travel. This shift is not only influencing the destinations and activities that are popular but also the way travel companies market and provide services to cater to the preferences of this generation.
