Indian airport lounge services company Encalm Hospitality has entered the hotel ownership and management industry with two new properties in Hyderabad and Goa, India.

According to LiveMint’s report, Encalm Hospitality’s first venture project is a 58-guestroom hotel located at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad, in the state of Telangana.

The company also plans to commence work on developing a new hotel at Manohar International (MOPA) Airport in Goa, India.

Planned to come up on a 2.13-acre land parcel, the new development in Goa is expected to be a four-star plus hotel, the company said.

Encalm Hospitality chief executive Vikas Sharma as saying: “We were allotted the land at Goa airport and it is likely to be a 220-plus room, four-star-plus hotel. However, we have not finalised the operator yet.

“Initially, it will be a mixed model of ownership and management. But we are sure that we will be building hotels that are profitable from the beginning.”

As per LiveMint’s report, the latest announcement builds on the initial agreements signed by the MOPA Airport developer in July this year to establish two new hotels on land in North Goa.

Citing people aware of this matter, the report stated that the second hotel will be developed by IHCL-owned Ginger or Taj Property.

Encalm Hospitality currently operates several airport spa facilities, meet and greet services at Delhi airport along with multiple brands, including Encalm Lounge and pay-and-use premium business-class traveller lounge at Delhi’s international airport.

It manages a 70,000ft² lounge space in Delhi and a 17,000ft² space in Hyderabad.

The hospitality company aims to operate three hotels and 21 lounges by 2025.

Encalm may also restructure and raise institutional capital to support its future expansion plans, which is in line with India’s Civil Aviation Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia’s 2022 announcement on the Civil Aviation Ministry’s plans to boost the number of airports from 140 to 220 by 2025.
