ENVI Lodges, a luxury eco-lodge brand based in the GCC, has entered a partnership with Oman's Ministry of Defence Pension Fund.
According to a press release posted on Zawya, this partnership will see the development of a sustainable mountain lodge in the Al Jabel Al Akhdar area.
Set to open in 2025, this property will mark ENVI's debut in Oman and is in line with Oman’s National Tourism Strategy 2040 target of 11.7 million visitors and 80,000 hotel keys.
A representative from the Ministry of Defence Pension Fund said: “Partnering with ENVI Lodges to open the first eco-lodge of its kind in Oman is a strategic move that contributes to the responsible development of the Sultanate’s tourism industry.
“The lodge will appeal to the growing number of travellers seeking eco-friendly accommodation and authentic destination experiences, reinforcing Oman’s reputation as hotspot for nature and adventure.”
ENVI Al Jabel Al Akhdar will feature 40 expedition tents, designed by South African architect Tenthouse Structure.
Overlooking the Hajar mountain range, the tents will be insulated and equipped with heating systems suitable for the winter season at Al Jabel Al Akhdar, which lies 2,000m above sea level.
It will feature a farm-to-table restaurant, private pools, a library, a guest arrival area, a kids club, a fitness and wellness centre, a swimming pool and a kitchen garden.
Additionally, an adjacent event space will host community activities, such as markets and food trucks.
Guests at the property can also explore nearby villages, engage with local farmers, as well as go on hiking adventures.
Construction of the eco-lodges will see minimal impact on the site, with each tent positioned on ground-fixed decks using eco-friendly anchors.
ENVI Lodges head of operations Paul Jordaan said: “I am very excited to bring the ENVI lodging philosophy to Oman, a country that is close to my heart.
“Our unique ecolodge concept will not only immerse guests in Oman’s authentic splendour but enable them to actively participate in our mission to make a positive impact on the environment.”
