The Fern Hotels & Resorts has signed a new property called Planetree The Fern Resort & Spa, in the Indian state of Karnataka, as reported by ETHospitalityWorld.com.
Located in Chikmagalur, also known as the ‘coffee land of Karnataka’, the resort boasts 70 rooms featuring a range of amenities.
The Fern Hotels & Resorts managing director Suhail Kannampilly said: “Chikmagalur holds significant potential in terms of tourism and business. This signing aligns perfectly with our vision of extending our footprint in key domestic markets.

The resort aims to cater to leisure travellers, conferences and weddings in the area.
It is roughly a five-hour drive from Bengaluru and two hours away from Shivamogga.
Its location provides guests access to waterfalls, trekking trails and coffee plantation tours.
Currently, the hotel chain manages five hotels in Karnataka, which consist of The Fern Belagavi Harsha, The Fern Shivamogga, The Fern Residency Vijayapura, The Fern Residency Yeshwanthpur Bengaluru and The Fern Residency Hubbali.
Additionally, the company has an upcoming addition called The Fern Residency Seshadripuram, Bengaluru, with 78 rooms.
With this latest addition, the Indian hotel chain plans to extend its footprint in Karnataka to seven hotels and resorts with more than 500 keys.
