Flat Cap Hotels’ two properties up for sale as owners enter administration

Administrator Begbies Traynor has appointed Christie & Co to market the two properties.

Flat Cap Hotels' two recently refurbished properties in Cheshire, UK, namely The Vicarage and The Bridge Hotel, have now been put for sale.

The announcement follows Flat Cap Hotels' entry into administration on 18 January.

Flat Cap Hotels' joint administrators, including Gareth Prince, Mark Malone, and Julian Pitts of Begbies Traynor, had appointed business property adviser Christie & Co to market the two properties.

Flat Cap Hotels cited the pandemic, inflation, and the difficult economic climate as the main reasons it entered administration.

The Vicarage and The Bridge Hotel have garnered a reputation as sought-after food-led destinations, housed within Grade II listed heritage sites.

The Vicarage in Cranage is a 23-bedroom property that boasts a rich history dating back to the 1700s.

It is situated on the banks of the River Dane and offers guests modern amenities including a restaurant, a modern industrial bar, and a sports bar.

Located in the village of Prestbury, The Bridge is a 27-bedroom hotel and restaurant perched on the banks of the River Bollin.

It features a contemporary restaurant and bar with a vaulted ceiling and Riverside gardens The hotel has an outdoor bar named ‘The Shed’, which is used as a wedding venue.

Christie & Co hotel broker associate director Tom O’Malley said: “We’re delighted to have been appointed to market these two exceptional Cheshire hospitality businesses on behalf of the administrators.

“The properties are available as a package or individually and we anticipate wide-ranging interest from investors and operators both national and independent.”

Flat Cap Hotels also owns a third property, The Courthouse, which is located in Knutsford.

This building dates back to the 17th century. It has been converted from a former prison and Crown Court into a nine-bedroom hotel and restaurant.
