Fortune Hotels, a member of ITC’s hotel group, has announced the launch of Fortune Beach Resort ECR [East Coast Road] Chennai, in India's southernmost state of Tamil Nadu.

The upscale resort is located on the East Coast Road, 3km from the 45km-long OMR IT Corridor road, and 40 minutes drive from the airport and railway station.

The hotel features neo-modern architecture. Its all-day multi-cuisine restaurant Zodiac is presented alongside the Neptune Bar and Fortune Deli outlet which serves light snacks and pastries.

Other recreational facilities include a banquet hall, an outdoor pool, a spa and a kid's play area.

Fortune Hotels managing director Samir MC commented: “This expansion underscores our commitment to maintaining a balanced portfolio of business and leisure properties. As we grow, we are excited to move closer to achieving a 50-50 mix in our portfolio, reflecting our dedication to meeting the diverse needs of our guests”. 

In March 2024, ITC Hotels revealed its plans to enter international markets and focus on expansion in southern India.

Fortune Park Hotels Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of ITC and includes full-service business and leisure hotels, with 67 signed alliances and over 5000 rooms across 57 cities in India including Nepal.

The sub-brands under which the hotels are operated by the chain are Fortune Select, Fortune Park, Fortune Inn and Fortune Resort.
