Luxury hospitality company Four Seasons has announced the appointment of Adrian Messerli as the president of hotel operations for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).
In the new role, Adrian Messerli will oversee operations in the region, where Four Seasons has over 40 hotels, resorts and residences.
Four Seasons is expanding its team in EMEA to support its properties and enhance the experience for residents, guests, partners and owners in the region.
Messerli is leading the team of corporate operations and commercial specialists.
Four Seasons president of global operations hotels and resorts Rainer Stampfer said: “Beyond his impressive experience, Adrian has always been a champion of his teams and of Four Seasons core values.
“He is a firm believer that empowered people drive an exceptional guest experience, ideally positioning him to both nurture and grow our teams and portfolio across the region.”
Messerli joined Four Seasons in 2005 and has extensive global experience, with his role covering the US, Caribbean, South America, China, Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
Most recently, he served as regional vice-president and general manager at the Four Seasons Hotel and Private Residences Madrid. Prior to that, he was general manager in Seychelles and Shanghai.
He also has expertise in food and beverage operations and has also contributed as a member of the company's Global Spa Task Force.
Additionally, he is an active member of the Chaîne des Rôtisseurs and a founding member of a culinary school in Evora, Portugal.
Messerli said: “After the last few fulfilling years leading our magnificent property in Madrid and overseeing several of our dynamic hotels in the region, I am proud and energised to be taking on this new leadership role across EMEA.”
Messerli will oversee the openings of a second Four Seasons hotel at The Pearl-Qatar in Doha and a third hotel in Rabat, Morocco, in the coming months.
