Marriott International Caribbean & Latin America has announced the reopening of Grand Cayman Marriott, an oceanfront hotel in Cayman Island, following a comprehensive revamp.

The refurbishment project, which entailed an investment of $20m, offers a contemporary aesthetic to the property.

It was funded by London and Regional Group Hotel Holdings.

Grand Cayman Marriott's new design features shades of blue and island-inspired artwork, capturing the essence of the oceanfront location and maintaining the hotel's 'Summer House' atmosphere.

The hotel was expanded to 301 rooms, with the addition of Kings, two Queens with premier mattresses, as well as 16 Junior Suites with new partitions.

Additionally, the renovation includes the introduction of four new Family Suites, designed to cater to couples, families, and groups.

Each Family Suite features bunk beds and a King bed, along with a Calacatta marble table and turquoise deck chair, custom-designed for the Summer House.

The rooms are characterised by slatted screens and beds positioned beside floor-to-ceiling windows, offering ocean views.

Room enhancements include integrated lighting, new 65in Smart TVs, upgraded surfaces and flooring, and furniture.

The majority of rooms now feature modern walk-in showers, while others offer soaking tubs.

Technology has also been upgraded, with the rooms now offering multiple charging stations, USB ports, mobile key access and Wi-Fi service.

In line with sustainability efforts, the hotel has selected deck chairs made from Sunbury Design fabrics, which are made predominantly from recycled materials.

Grand Cayman Marriott general manager Hermes Cuello said: “Our guestrooms are designed to provide a calm and superior welcoming experience for travellers to delight in coming to our Summer House.

“This refresh is a natural follow-through to the front of house spaces that were renovated previously.”
