Hard Rock International and the Tejon Indian Tribe have announced the ground-breaking of a hotel and casino situated on Tejon Tribal land in the US state of California.
The ceremony was attended by representatives from Hard Rock, leaders of the Tejon Indian Tribe and general membership, as well as state-wide and local community leaders.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon will cover more than 700,000ft², of which gaming space will occupy a 150,000ft² area with 2,500 slots and 48 table games.
Phase one will consist of multiple dining options, including Council Oak Steaks and Seafood, a Hard Rock Cafe, a Rock Shop, and more.
Meanwhile, phase two will include a 400-room hotel, additional dining, cigar lounge, pool, spa, and a 2,800-seat event venue called Hard Rock Live.
This event venue is anticipated to host comedy acts, concert performances, and sporting events, among others.
The completion of phase one is expected in 22 months while phase two will take an additional 20 months to finish the entire hotel and casino, the company stated.
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon will display Hard Rock's signature memorabilia.
The company also notes that the property will be the second closest class III casino to Los Angeles.
The project will be managed by the Penta Building Group and is anticipated to create around 2,000 jobs in construction.
After both phases of the project are finished, it is estimated to also generate about 5,000 jobs, including both full-time and part-time positions.
The property will be situated at Highway 166 and Sabodan Road West of the community of Mettler.
Hard Rock International chairman Jim Allen said: “Hard Rock is proud to partner with the Tejon Indian Tribe on creating a world-class entertainment destination.
“The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Tejon property will be another incredible offering in our West Coast portfolio and we are committed to supporting the local community and creating a lasting positive economic impact for the State of California.”
Last month, Hard Rock International, in collaboration with Steinhauer Properties, unveiled development plans for a hotel in California.
