The Driftwood Capital-owned Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront, located in Florida, US, is undergoing renovation, which is set to be completed by the end of January 2024, reported Florida Today

Driftwood Capital managing director David Steiner said renovations are being carried out on guest rooms and bathrooms.

During the renovation work of the seven-storey hotel, one floor at a time is being closed to minimise guest disruption.

The hotel is strategically located on the beachside, near Port Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center, Patrick Space Force Base, and other Orlando attractions.

According to Driftwood Capital CEO Carlos Rodriguez, Space Coast is a premier destination for various segments, including leisure, corporate, and meeting travellers, and the hotel plans to benefit from the destination’s growth.

Among the other large hotels in the region include the 290-room Crown Plaza Melbourne-Oceanfront and the 284-room Radisson Resort at the Port in Cape Canaveral.

Driftwood's previously largest hotel, International Palms Resort, is now closed and will be replaced by a 502-room Westin Cocoa Beach Resort & Spa, which is scheduled to open in early 2027.

The Hilton Cocoa Beach property has been the location of a hotel since 1986, with Driftwood acquiring it in 2013.

The Hilton Cocoa Beach has five food and beverage restaurants, namely the Salt, Waves Craft Bar & Kitchen, Longboards Tiki Beach Grille, Castaway Beach Bar, and the Cool Beans shop.

Additionally, the hotel features 12,678ft² of event space across seven rooms, with the largest individual room spanning 4,500ft².

Among the other amenities include an outdoor pool, fitness room, lobby workstation, and guest laundry facilities.

Apart from the Hilton hotel, Driftwood Capital, as a major player operating in the Space Coast hotel space, owns the Crowne Plaza, and is also developing a 130-room Element by Westin adjacent to the Crowne Plaza. The Element by Westin is slated to open in the first half of 2024.
