Hilton has announced three new franchise agreements, which will deepen its Portuguese portfolio.
It is introducing properties under the Canopy by Hilton, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, and DoubleTree by Hilton brands.
Hilton EMEA development senior vice-president Patrick Fitzgibbon said: “Last year tourist numbers soared to record highs in Portugal and with demand expected to continue, it’s an incredibly attractive hotel investment market.
“We’re thrilled to have signed three new properties across three of our world-class brands, further expanding our Portuguese portfolio of more than 20 hotels trading and in our pipeline.”
The first of these, Canopy by Hilton Vilamoura Marina, is set to provide a boutique hotel experience upon its launch in 2026, through a franchise agreement with Arrow Global Group.
Located 500m from Praia da Vilamoura and in the vicinity of Marina Vilamoura, the property will have 155 rooms.
It will feature amenities such as a restaurant and bar, as well as a spa, outdoor pool, and fitness centre.
Santo André Beach Hotel, Tapestry Collection by Hilton, is set to welcome guests next year and will be the first Hilton property in the Santiago do Cacém region.
Under a franchise agreement with Mercan Properties Group, the hotel will offer 44 guest rooms, a restaurant and bar, a gym, and a rooftop pool with sea views.
It will be situated 200m from the Santo Andre and Sancha Lagoons Natural Reserve and 500m from Santo André Beach.
Additionally, DoubleTree by Hilton Lisbon Airport will open next year, following a franchise agreement with Mercan Properties Group.
This property will offer 199 guest rooms and 20 suites, as well as amenities such as a restaurant, bar, breakfast area, and facilities for meetings, incentives, conferences, and events.
Last month, Hilton entered Nepal by launching a hotel in Kathmandu.
The property was developed and is owned by the Shanker Group.
