Hilton has revealed plans to open Italy's inaugural LXR Hotels & Resorts property, the Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda. The development comes following a franchise agreement with Paval Holding and Apex Alliance.

The Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda is set to open its doors in 2026 and will undergo a multimillion-euro renovation to upgrade its interiors while preserving its historic exterior.

This luxury hotel will be owned by Apex Alliance, a Lithuanian group, and the Romanian Pavăl Holding, with management responsibilities resting with Apex Alliance Hotel Management.

With this addition, Hilton is expanding its LXR Hotels & Resorts portfolio to Italy.

Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice-president of development for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Hilton, expressed his enthusiasm for this new venture, highlighting the stunning natural surroundings, favourable climate, rich history and thriving local food scene around Lake Garda.

Fitzgibbon also expressed Hilton's pride in partnering with Apex Alliance to bring this luxury brand to Italy.

Guests at the Grand Hotel Gardone Lake Garda, LXR Hotels & Resorts, can look forward to a glamorous Italian lakefront experience with personalised service, authentic cuisine and wellness offerings.

Lake Garda in northern Italy is known for its crystal-clear waters, and the property offers panoramic views of the lake and surrounding mountains.

The Grand Hotel's transformation

After an ambitious renovation, a majority of the hotel's high-ceilinged guest rooms will offer splendid lake views from private balconies. The hotel will feature 160 guest rooms, two signature restaurants, two bars, a world-class spa with indoor and outdoor pools and comprehensive fitness facilities.

There will also be 825 square metres of meeting space, including a grand ballroom with a terrace overlooking the lake.

The partnership aims to transform the Grand Hotel Gardone into Lake Garda's first five-star branded luxury destination by blending its historic charm and scenic location with LXR's exceptional service, luxurious amenities and tailored experiences.
