Hilton launches Sleep Retreats to enhance guest rest

The Sleep Retreats, starting at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, will leverage Hilton's wellness amenities.

Hilton has announced a partnership with sleep science expert Dr Rebecca Robbins to transform the sleep experience of its guests across its hotel portfolio.  

The collaboration will introduce Sleep Retreats, starting at Grand Wailea, A Waldorf Astoria Resort, with plans to expand to other locations.  

Dr Robbins, an assistant professor in medicine and associate scientist at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, US, brings her expertise to help guests achieve optimal rest during their stays. 

The Sleep Retreats, debuting at Grand Wailea's Kilolani Spa in Maui, are designed to educate and empower guests to achieve restful sleep.  

These retreats leverage Hilton's wellness amenities and provide a comprehensive journey into the science and practice of sleep.  

Dr Robbins said: “Understanding the vital role sleep plays in our lives goes much deeper than just knowing we need it. It's about nurturing and prioritising it, especially in our fast-moving world where being constantly on the go is the norm.” 

“Collaborating with Hilton to bridge the gap between sleep science and its practical, everyday application excites me and our retreats serve as a wonderful demonstration of how this knowledge can be brought to life – whether travelling or at home.”  

Dr Robbins will lead activities, discussions, and meditations focused on enhancing sleep quality. 

Guests participating in the Sleep Retreats will experience spa services aimed at mitigating jet lag, optimising circadian rhythms, and releasing sleep-enhancing hormones.  

The programme also includes educational lectures on sleep mechanics and disorders.  

Additionally, the retreats will offer healthy meals conducive to sleep and the chance to create a personalised sleep schedule. 

Hilton Wellness global vice-president Amanda Al-Masri said: “Hilton seeks to provide more than just a place to stay. We aim to be a catalyst for wellness, starting with a great night’s sleep.  

“Recognising that more than half of all travellers surveyed in our recent Trends Report emphasised the need for rest when they travel, our commitment has never been more important.” 

Last week, Hilton signed a $210m agreement with Adventurous Journeys Capital Partners to acquire the Graduate Hotels brand.  

This transaction is expected to close in the second quarter, subject to customary conditions and federal approval.
