Hilton is setting its sights on European sunseekers with a surge of new resort properties set to open in summer 2024.
The hospitality giant has announced plans to unveil 10 new resorts across popular leisure destinations in Greece, Ibiza, Malta and beyond, adding more than 1,500 guest rooms to its portfolio.
This aggressive expansion reflects Hilton's global strategy to solidify its dominance in the resort sector. The company has doubled its global resort collection in the past five years, reaching 300 resorts worldwide.
“Guest demand for high-quality resorts in both longstanding international hotspots and up-and-coming leisure destinations is growing, leading to increased interest from owners in developing resort hotels under Hilton brands,” said Patrick Fitzgibbon, senior vice-president for development in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
Several new Curio Collection by Hilton properties are on the horizon. Two will be opening in Ibiza in the summer of 2024, marking the brand's debut on the famed party island.
The Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza will offer beachfront access, while its sister property, the adults-only Club Cala San Miguel Hotel Ibiza, has a relaxed atmosphere with stunning views.
Crete has the arrival of the Numo Ierapetra Beach Resort, another Curio Collection property. This adults-only retreat caters to wellness seekers with features including a spa, tennis courts and an open-air cinema for a more intimate and exclusive experience.
Mediterranean havens including Sardinia and Malta will receive new Hilton properties, further solidifying the company's presence in the region.
The Hilton Alvor in Portugal offers a family-friendly environment with amenities, including multiple restaurants, bars and a spa.
The new resorts cater to a diverse range of traveller preferences.
With this strategic expansion, Hilton ensures it has something to offer every type of traveller seeking a memorable European escape.
