Hilton is set to strengthen its presence in Lisbon, Portugal, with the announcement of plans to open three new properties across three of its renowned brands.

The decision comes as Lisbon continues to be a popular destination for international travel and tourism.

Hilton has entered into a management agreement with Feuring Asset Management GmbH to develop these new properties, marking a significant step in the company's efforts to diversify its portfolio in the Portuguese market.

Carlos Miró, managing director of development for Spain and Portugal at Hilton, expressed excitement about the expansion, highlighting Lisbon's growing appeal as a destination.

The three new properties

Canopy by Hilton Lisbon Praça Sao Paolo

The first property, Canopy by Hilton Lisbon Praça Sao Paulo, will be located in central Lisbon, within walking distance of popular attractions like the Time Out Market and luxury retail stores.

This hotel is set to open its doors in 2026 and will offer 84 spacious guest rooms, a café, bar, meeting space, fitness centre and parking facilities.

It will be the first Canopy by Hilton branded property in Portugal, emphasising a local experience for guests.

Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton:

Set to open in Spring 2024, Duo Hotel Lisbon, Curio Collection by Hilton, will feature 75 stylish guest rooms, dining outlets, a Portuguese pasteleria and an interior courtyard.

This property will blend a traditional 19th-century building with a modern development, offering a unique and charming experience for guests in the west-downtown area of Lisbon.

Hampton by Hilton Lisbon Baixa

Hampton by Hilton Lisbon Baixa, set to open in 2025, will introduce the Hampton by Hilton brand to Lisbon.

The property will have 157 keys, a rooftop space with an outdoor pool, fitness centre, parking facilities and vibrant open-concept social spaces. Located in the city centre, it will provide guests with modern and sleek accommodation.

Hilton's growing presence in Portugal

Hilton's expansion plans in Lisbon reflect the company's commitment to serving a broader range of traveller needs in the Portuguese market.

With nine trading hotels and 11 pipeline hotels in Portugal, Hilton aims to continue its growth trajectory in the country. The company has opened 20 new hotels in Europe this year and has around 200 planned for the next three to five years.

Matthias Lowin, from Feuring Asset Management GmbH, also expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration, emphasising the aim to provide world-class service and amenities to the vibrant capital of Lisbon.

As the city's popularity as a travel destination continues to rise, Hilton's investment in these new properties is expected to contribute to Lisbon's thriving tourism industry.
