Hilton has claimed the title of the World’s No1 Best Workplace, according to Fortune magazine and the Great Place To Work website.
Great Place To Work has announced that 90% of Hilton employees said that the global hospitality company was a great place to work.
This marks a milestone as the first time a hospitality company has secured the top honour in this programme.
Embracing a culture of inclusivity and purpose
With a global team of 460,000 members, Hilton emphasised that it is committed to providing support that empowers its workforce. Since its debut on the "World’s Best” list in 2016, it has consistently built a culture by prioritising inclusivity, fostering growth opportunities and nurturing a purpose-driven environment.
Chris Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton, emphasised the enduring vision set out by Conrad Hilton more than a century ago.
“Around the world at Hilton, our 460,000 team members are united by a common purpose: to fill the earth with the light and warmth of hospitality. That purpose was formed more than a century ago, when Conrad Hilton set out to change the world through travel,” said Nassetta, in a company statement.
Investing in team members' success and well-being
Hilton is dedicated to cultivating an inclusive culture that supports team members at every stage of their personal and professional journey.
The hospitality giant offers benefits including parental leave, adoption assistance, and travel benefits through its Go Hilton team member travel programme.
In a philanthropic move, Hilton, along with the Hilton Global Foundation, has also introduced the Hilton Cares programme.
The hospitality company said this initiative will provide financial assistance for team members and community members passionate about building careers in hospitality.
Applications for this programme will open in early 2024.
Four pillars of a great workplace
Hilton outlined four pillars upon which it focuses to create a fully human experience at work:
1. Inclusion: Recognised for its diverse and equitable workforce, Hilton emphasises representation from various backgrounds.
2. Wellness: Through the Thrive at Hilton platform, the company supports employees' mental wellness and caregiving needs.
3. Growth: Hilton said it provides opportunities for career growth, including educational courses, upskilling programmes, and leadership development initiatives.
4. Purpose: Hilton said its workforce consistently contributes to fulfilling Conrad Hilton's founding vision of spreading hospitality globally.
Global recognition
Since 2016, the company has been featured on Great Place To Work lists, solidifying its commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. To secure its title as the World’s Best Workplace, Hilton underwent a rigorous evaluation process, receiving feedback directly from team members worldwide.
This recognition adds to Hilton's track record of being honoured as the Best Workplace for Women in the US and the No 1 Best Workplace in a number of countries during 2023.
