Holiday Inn Express launches in Kathmandu, Nepal

IHG Hotels & Resorts partners with Swornim Hotels to introduce the first Holiday Inn Express in Nepal's capital.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has unveiled the inaugural Holiday Inn Express in Nepal, situated in the city of Kathmandu.

Naresh Lal Shrestha, chairman, and Maheshwor Shrestha, managing director of Swornim Hotels Private Limited, expressed their excitement about the partnership with IHG Hotels & Resorts.

“This hotel will further strengthen Kathmandu’s offering for both business and leisure travellers who are looking for a quality hospitality experience. The launch of Holiday Inn Express further re-inforces the economic prosperity and growth of the hospitality industry in Nepal.”

Strategic location and accessible attractions

Situated in Naxal, 15 minutes from Tribhuvan International Airport, the hotel offers easy access to corporate offices, embassies, restaurants, nightclubs and casinos.

UNESCO World Heritage Sites such as Durbar Square, Buddhist stupas and Hindu temples are also within reach.

Amenities

With 100 rooms, including a suite, on higher floors, Holiday Inn Express Kathmandu Naxal provides panoramic views of the city and the Himalayas. IHG said the room interiors “blend contemporary minimalism with the vibrant energy synonymous with the Holiday Inn Express brand,” offering free Wi-Fi and a self-service laundromat.

Express Café & Bar and the Rooftop Asian Bar and Restaurant offer diverse dining experiences with a 240-degree view of the Himalayas. The hotel also offers meeting venues with modern audio-visual equipment and a banquet hall connected to a terrace for versatile event spaces.

General manager Karthi VK emphasised the hotel's commitment to a frictionless, personal, transparent, and value-rich experience for all guests in a statement:

“I look forward to welcoming travellers to Kathmandu to experience our inspiring guestrooms as well as our flexible and energising public spaces, providing guests with a simple and smart stay.”
