Hotel du Vin York, situated on The Mount, UK, has completed its £9m ($11.83m) refurbishment effort to blend an old-world charm and modern luxury.
This renovation is part of a broader initiative across the Hotel Du Vin brand, which encompasses 19 properties.
It is aimed at enhancing the individuality of each hotel while connecting each hotel within the brand to the others.
Designer Anita Rosato led the refurbishment programme, which commenced at One Devonshire Gardens in Glasgow.
Following the renovation, the brand has extended its refurbishment efforts to its properties in Poole, Cheltenham.
Additionally, refurbishments are set to begin at the old Sugar House in Bristol and Cannizaro House in Wimbledon before the end of the year.
Hotel du Vin and Malmaison COO Scott Harper said: “Elevating the quality of our hotels underscores our dedication to enhancing guest experience. With the new design concepts carefully preserving each building’s history, we aim to strengthen our connections within the local communities in which we operate.
“As we prepare to celebrate our 30th anniversary, we continue to prioritise leading the way in the UK lifestyle hotel sector, consistently setting new standards of excellence across the hospitality industry.”
Situated within a building that previously served as an orphanage, Hotel du Vin York now offers 44 bedrooms and suites.
Hotel du Vin York general manager Matt Strawford said: “The refurbishment is a proud moment for us, breathing new life into the hotel while preserving its impressive 19th-century features.
“It’s incredibly rewarding to manage a hotel that holds such significance for our guests and the local community. We’re thrilled to offer a refreshed and inviting space that continues to reflect our commitment to exceptional hospitality.”
