IHG Hotels & Resorts' (IHG) lifestyle brand Hotel Indigo is aggressively expanding its resorts portfolio in 2024.

Traditionally focused on urban settings, the brand is strategically adding unique destinations across the globe.

Broadening appeal

The expansion allows the brand to cater to a broader audience, including travellers seeking immersive experiences beyond cityscapes.

Intending to double its portfolio between 2027 and 2029, Hotel Indigo prioritises resorts.

With 15 open resorts across six regions at present, 34 additional resorts are in the pipeline.

Five new resorts debut in 2024

In 2024, Hotel Indigo is launching five new resorts in diverse locations:

The Americas:

Mexico: Hotel Indigo La Paz Puerta Cortés (opened in early 2024) offers 115 beachfront rooms, a spa and an infinity pool.

Cayman Islands: Hotel Indigo Grand Cayman (opened May 2024) has 282 rooms, a bohemian aesthetic and the island's first rooftop restaurant and bar.

Middle East:

Oman: The Middle East welcomes its first property under the brand with the opening of Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa in Oman.

Hotel Indigo Jabal Akhdar Resort & Spa offers 173 rooms with panoramic mountain views and a world-class spa.

Asia Pacific:

Indonesia: Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach (opening late 2024) promises an authentic Indonesian experience.

Micronesia: Hotel Indigo Palau (opening end of 2024) will be the first Hotel Indigo in the region, offering 200 rooms and direct access to diving spots.

Expanding in China

The brand is also adding three new resorts in China in 2024:

Hebei Province: Hotel Indigo Beidaihe (opened June 2024) offers 90 rooms with access to the Bohai Sea, and features an outdoor pool, spa and dining options.

Yunnan Province: Hotel Indigo Lagu Lake (opening July 2024) features 138 rooms and embraces the local spiritual atmosphere.

Jilin Province: Hotel Indigo Beidahu (opening late autumn 2024) marks the brand's first ski resort with 121 rooms and on-site dining.

This expansion strengthens the brand's position in the lifestyle resort segment, offering business and leisure travellers a wider range of unique experiences in exciting new destinations.
