Saudi hotel management company Alesayi Hospitality Company (AHC) has partnered with HotelRunner, a US-based online sales management platform for hotels and travel agencies, to advance Saudi Arabia's tourism sector.

A memorandum of understanding (MOU) was signed on 7 May 2024, at the Arabian Travel Market event to create a globally connected and sustainable travel ecosystem in the country.

This partnership will leverage HotelRunner's expertise in utilising technology for sustainable growth within the travel sector.

The MOU outlines plans for HotelRunner and AHC to provide the latest technology infrastructure to hotels, travel agencies, and tourism professionals across Saudi Arabia.

This infrastructure, powered by data, AI and automation, aims to facilitate the transition from local to global markets, reinforcing Saudi Arabia's status as a global destination.

HotelRunner founder and managing partner Ali Beklen said: “We believe in the power of innovative technology to unlock new opportunities. This partnership represents a strategic milestone in our mission to build a more vibrant and interconnected travel economy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

HotelRunner founder and managing partner Arden Agopyan said: “Our goal is to create a strong travel ecosystem that fosters innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development.

“Through this partnership, we are committed to delivering unparalleled value to each stakeholder through the implementation and enablement of high technology.”

This collaboration is said to align with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030, a roadmap for economic diversification.

AHC deputy CEO Hatem Alesayi said: “Our partnership signifies a pivotal moment in our mission to showcase Saudi Arabia’s tourism potential to the world.

“By leveraging HotelRunner’s technology and our regional expertise, we’re primed to offer remarkable experiences and advance the objectives of Vision 2030.”

Last month, French hospitality company Accor collaborated with Alesayi Holding, announcing their plans to establish a new boutique hotel and residences in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

The project, named Abraj Omar Hotel & Residences Makkah – MGallery Collection, is set to launch in 2028.
