Hyatt to rebrand Kathmandu property into 153-room Hyatt Centric hotel 

The renovated property will include a redesigned entrance and lobby, a sky bar and lounge, along with upgraded amenities.

Hyatt Hotels has revealed a partnership between a Hyatt affiliate and City Hotel to convert and rebrand Hyatt Place Kathmandu in Nepal. 

The property will be transformed into the new Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu upon the completion of the renovation. 

It will mark the entry of a full-service Hyatt Centric brand into the country.  

The overhaul will include a redesigned entrance and lobby, a sky bar and lounge, along with upgraded amenities. 

Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu, located near Kathmandu city centre, will cater to savvy explorers seeking local experiences.  

It will also provide guests access to nearby pilgrimage sites and UNESCO World Heritage Sites. 

City Hotel executive director Akshay Golyan said: “We look forward to unveiling this hotel transformation, which will reflect our commitment to meeting our guests where they are with exceptional and memorable experiences. 

“The planned new, locally inspired design and modern enhancements throughout the hotel will create a welcoming atmosphere to encourage connection and cater to the needs of today’s curious traveller.” 

Hyatt Centric Soalteemode Kathmandu general manager Varun Talwar said: “We are confident that this transformation will further solidify our position as a leading hotel in Kathmandu. 

“We are committed to providing an elevated guest experience through the highest level of service and hospitality, and we are excited at the prospect of sharing our new, distinctly Hyatt Centric look and feel with everyone.” 

Hyatt Centric hotels are noted to be situated in major cities worldwide, including New York, Tokyo, Hong Kong, Madrid, Mumbai, Bangalore, and Chicago.  

These properties target millennial-minded travellers.  

Hyatt's India and South-West Asia portfolio includes 47 properties with 45 in India and two in Nepal, across eight diverse brands. 

These brands comprise Andaz, Hyatt, Hyatt Centric, Alila, Hyatt Place, Hyatt Regency, Grand Hyatt, and Park Hyatt.
