Hyatt Hotels plans to further expand its Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands in 2023, with a focus on new markets and airport locations in the US.
This latest announcement follows Hyatt's report last month on the progress made in developing its latest Hyatt Studios brand, with franchise agreements signed for locations in Mobile, Alabama and Marysville, California.
Construction of the Mobile, Alabama, property is set to begin in the fourth quarter of this year.
Hyatt Hotels senior vice-president of development and owner relations Jim Tierney said: “As part of Hyatt’s commitment to listen to our owners and take action on their feedback, Hyatt continues to identify white space in sought-after markets.
“Based on our intentional growth strategy, we focus on growing in new markets and expanding our base with new developers and owners without creating intra-brand competition.”
As Hyatt Place and Hyatt House brands grow across the US, the hotel company plans to add 14 new owners to the Hyatt family while expanding the existing Hyatt portfolios for five owners by the end of 2023.
Hyatt Hotels expects to enter those US markets that currently do not have a Hyatt hotel located within five miles by 2023.
These properties include Hyatt Place Albany, New York; Hyatt Place Flagstaff, Arizona; Hyatt Place Munster, Indiana; Hyatt Place Newark/Main Street, Delaware and Hyatt Place St. Augustine/Vilano Beach, Florida.
Further growth for the hospitality company includes the debut of the Hyatt House brand in markets, namely Arkansas with Hyatt House Bentonville/Rogers, Colombia with Hyatt House Colorado Springs Airport, Michigan with Hyatt House Lansing/University Area Lansing, Minneapolis with Hyatt House Mall of America/MSP Airport and California with Hyatt House Vacaville.
The company has also further expanded its airport hotel portfolio across the US this year.
These properties include Hyatt House Orlando Airport, Florida; Hyatt House Sacramento Airport/Natomas, California; Hyatt Place Melbourne Airport, Florida and Hyatt Place Sacramento International Airport, California.
It offers improved guest experiences, free breakfast and upgraded in-room amenities for both leisure and business travellers at its airport hotels.
Additionally, scheduled renovations to commence later this year include 17 Hyatt Place hotels owned by Service Properties Trust.
