The Hyatt Corporation has expanded its brand presence in New Orleans, Louisiana, US, with the acquisition of Maison Métier (formerly Maison de la Luz) and the Barnett (formerly the Ace Hotel New Orleans).
The properties will join Hyatt’s portfolio as affiliated hotels, owned by real estate investment and development firm the Domain Companies and managed by HRI Hospitality.
The hotels, situated on Carondelet Street in New Orleans, are expected to join Hyatt’s Independent Collection of brands and participate in the World of Hyatt loyalty programme in 2024.
Maison Métier will join Hyatt’s The Unbound Collection and is located in a building that dates from 1908. It offers 67 guestrooms and suites with a Parisian design focus.
The Barnett will join the JdV by Hyatt brand and displays Art Deco and French Modernism influences. It offers an Italian restaurant, a rooftop and pool bar and a music venue.
New Orleans is a popular tourism destination within the US and a hot spot for hoteliers with frequent management takeovers and renovation announcements.

The company recently announced a collaboration with LG Electronics on integrated Google Cast capabilities for smart hotel TVs.
