US-based hospitality company Hyatt Hotels has opened its Hyatt Place hotel in Vijayawada in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh.
Named Hyatt Place Vijayawada, the new hotel features 81 guestrooms, including two suites, which provide views of the Eastern Ghat mountains.
The property, developed by RVS Conventions, introduces the Hyatt Place brand to the state for the first time.
RVS Conventions managing director Karthik Ramisetty said: “We are excited to contribute to Vijayawada’s vibrant tourism landscape and look forward to welcoming guests from around the world to experience the unparalleled warmth and community that the World of Hyatt represents.”
The hotel is situated near the city's commercial district and is a 20-minute drive away from Vijayawada International Airport.
Its prime location provides convenient proximity to nearby sites, including the Prakasam Barrage and the Undavalli Caves.
The hotel includes an all-day open-kitchen restaurant called Zing, which offers local Andhra, Indian, Asian and Continental cuisines.
It also features 6,602ft² of flexible meeting and event space, including a ballroom.
Suitable for both private meetings and large social gatherings, the high-tech venues provide both indoor and outdoor settings.
Hyatt India and South West Asia development vice-president Dhruva Rathore said: “The opening of Hyatt Place Vijayawada is rooted in our ambitious growth plans for Hyatt brands in India.
“Vijayawada has demonstrated significant economic and tourism potential in recent years and we are delighted to foray into this booming destination where our guests travel, as well as where owners and developers can leverage our global distribution network and World of Hyatt loyalty programme.”
In January this year, Hyatt opened the Hyatt Place Hangzhou International Airport in Hangzhou, the capital city of China’s Zhejiang province.
