Hyatt has announced a partnership with Destination Gold Coast Consortium to launch the Andaz Gold Coast resort in Australia.

This will mark the luxury lifestyle brand Andaz's first foray into the country and the Pacific region, with an opening slated for mid-2025.

The resort will be part of The Star Gold Coast's integrated resort master plan.

Destination Gold Coast Consortium is a joint venture between The Star Entertainment Group, Far East Consortium, and Chow Tai Fook Enterprises.

Hyatt group president for Asia Pacific David Udell said: “We are thrilled to announce plans to bring the Andaz brand to Australia’s premier resort destination in collaboration with The Star Gold Coast.

“Hyatt has had a brand presence in Australia for over 40 years, and we are excited to expand our luxury, lifestyle and leisure offerings into sought-after destinations like the Gold Coast. This resort will complement our current portfolio of ten hotels under five distinct brands in Australia, including Park Hyatt, Grand Hyatt, Hyatt Regency, Hyatt Centric and Hyatt Place.”

The Star Gold Coast general manager of hotels Steve McPharlin said: “We are delighted to welcome Andaz Gold Coast to our world-class tourism and entertainment precinct. As part of The Star Gold Coast’s A$2bn (approximately $1.33bn) master plan, we are proud to continue our investment in this dynamic city while also providing new employment opportunities alongside vibrant hospitality experiences.”

Andaz Gold Coast will be located within The Star Gold Coast, an exclusive development on Broadbeach Island, offering guests access to beaches, rainforests, theme parks, upscale shopping, and the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre.

The hotel will occupy floors six to 21 of the 65-story tower, featuring 202 guest rooms and suites, a fitness centre, and three food and beverage outlets.

Guests will also be able to avail an outdoor pool deck with a cocktail bar, beach club, and al fresco dining. The Andaz Lounge will provide a casual space for refreshments.

Australian companies DBI Architects and Hachem will design the architecture and interiors respectively, inspired by the Gold Coast's sunlight transformations.

Earlier this month, Hyatt selected Oracle’s OPERA Cloud solution as the property management system for its global hotel portfolio.
