Hyatt Hotels has begun construction of its inaugural Hyatt Studios property, marking the brand's entry into the upper-midscale lodging segment in the Americas.

Scheduled to open its doors in early 2025, the ground-breaking ceremony for the Hyatt Studios Mobile/Tillman’s Corner property in Mobile, Alabama, signifies a strategic move for Hyatt to enhance its presence in the extended-stay market.

Franchise agreement

Under a franchise agreement with 3H Group, Hyatt Studios Mobile/Tillman’s Corner aims to redefine the upper-midscale, extended-stay experience.

Global head of Hyatt Studios Dan Hansen expressed pride in the project, stating: “The Hyatt Studios brand is positioned to transform the upper-midscale, extended-stay experience for our guests and World of Hyatt members by delivering exceptional value, best-in-class amenities and the highest level of care. The continued interest from the development community reaffirms the Hyatt Studios brand’s compelling value proposition.”

Strategic location and community impact

Situated in Tillman’s Corner just outside Mobile, Alabama, the Hyatt Studios hotel will offer easy access to the Gulf Coast, Mobile International Airport and key cultural attractions.

The property's location is poised to attract tourists and business travellers alike, contributing to the local economy by creating job opportunities and enriching Mobile’s hospitality industry.

Amenities for extended-stay and transient guests

The Hyatt Studios brand is designed to cater to both extended-stay and transient demand, featuring self-service amenities, a 24-hour market and in-room kitchens equipped with full-sized refrigerators, dishwashers and ovens or microwaves.

Growing pipeline and expansion plans

Since the announcement of the Hyatt Studios brand in April 2023, strong interest from hotel developers has fuelled a growing pipeline.

The expansion is evidenced by a new franchise agreement with Giri Hotel Management for a 122-room Hyatt Studios hotel at Portland International Jetport in Maine, set to open in 2025.

The Hyatt Studios brand, positioned alongside Hyatt Place, Hyatt House and Caption by Hyatt, reflects the company's dedication to diversifying guest experiences within the select service category.
