Hospitality company Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has announced the opening of Ginger Coimbatore Airport, Avinashi Road in Tamil Nadu, India.
Strategically located next to the airport, the hotel features 68 rooms and is within easy reach of key business districts such as Coddisia Trade Centre, Tidel Park, Chil SEZ IT Park and Thoughtworks Tech.
Ginger Coimbatore Airport features guest amenities, including the signature all-day diner, a bar, a fitness centre, and a conference room.
IHCL's new businesses, hotel openings and corporate communications executive vice-president Deepika Rao said: “Coimbatore’s inclusion as a smart city combined with its robust infrastructure development and improved connectivity is creating a thriving ecosystem for businesses and tourists. Ginger, with its lean luxe offering, will cater to the evolving needs of both corporate and leisure travellers in the city.”
Coimbatore is a major hub for IT, education, and healthcare and is one of the fastest-growing tier-II cities in India.
The city, located at the foothills of the Western Ghats, also serves as a gateway to the Nilgiri Hills.
With the addition of Ginger Coimbatore Airport, IHCL now operates 18 hotels in Tamil Nadu, including two that are under development.
Overall, the company has a portfolio of 334 hotels, with 109 under development across the globe, spanning four continents, 13 countries, and more than 130 locations.
Last month, IHCL expanded its portfolio in Maharashtra with the signing of its fifth Ginger-branded hotel in Thane. The greenfield project is a collaborative effort with Jagdale Infrastructure.
It offers a signature all-day diner, a fitness centre and more than 2,000ft² of banquet hall and meeting room facilities.
