Indian Hotel Company (IHCL) has expanded its portfolio in Maharashtra with the signing of its fifth Ginger-branded hotel in Thane.
This greenfield project, a collaborative effort with Jagdale Infrastructure, will offer Ginger’s lean luxe design philosophy.
Jagdale Infrastructure director Rahul Jagdale said: “We are delighted to join forces with IHCL for this new project. We look forward to bringing the vibrant brand of Ginger to a new address in Thane."
The 200-key Ginger Thane hotel in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region will offer a signature all-day diner, a fitness centre and more than 2,000ft² of banquet hall and meeting room facilities.
The addition will increase IHCL's presence in Maharashtra to 35 hotels, including 12 under development.
IHCL real estate and development executive vice president Suma Venkatesh said: “The signing of our fifth Ginger hotel in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region in Thane aligns with IHCL’s strategic vision of expanding its presence in key urban centres in India.
“Thane with its rapid development has emerged as a residential and commercial hub in Maharashtra. We are delighted to collaborate with Jagdale Infrastructure Private Limited for this new hotel.”
The announcement of Ginger Thane comes on the heels of IHCL's premium homestay collection, amã Stays & Trails, reaching a milestone.
The collection now includes 203 bungalows, with another 97 under development.
IHCL's current global portfolio comprises 326 hotels, including 102 under development, spanning four continents, 13 countries, and more than 130 locations.
