Hospitality company Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has launched its Ginger brand hotel at Mumbai Airport, in the Indian state of Maharashtra.

Strategically located near terminal 1 of the airport's domestic travel, the 371-key Ginger hotel features a lean luxe design and offers curated rooms designed to prioritise convenience and comfort to meet the needs of both business and leisure travellers.

IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “The opening of Ginger Mumbai Airport is a significant milestone in the transformation journey of the brand, which now has over two-thirds of its operating hotels in the upgraded new lean luxe identity.

“India’s economic growth and rapidly expanding infrastructure presents a significant opportunity for the mid-scale segment. Having pioneered the segment in India, IHCL is set to launch similar large-format hotels at Bengaluru and Goa airports, further revolutionising the mid-scale hotel category.”

The hotel comprises a banquet hall of more than 3,000ft², as well as two meeting rooms and a lounge for business gatherings and social events.

Amenities at the hotel include a fitness centre and a sports bar.

IHCL said the Ginger Mumbai provides easy access to business hubs, including the Bandra Kurla Complex, key exhibition and convention centres, in addition to tourist attractions at Juhu and Bandra.

The new hotel brings IHCL’s total number of hotels in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region to 13, including two in the development phase.

Recently, IHCL opened the Ginger Gangtok hotel in Bojoghari, in the Indian state of Sikkim.

Situated on the Indra Bypass in Gangtok, a known hill station, the property comprises 89 rooms that offer valley views.
