Hospitality company Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has signed a partnership agreement with Master Resorts and Spa to launch a new Taj-branded resort in Pushkar, in the Indian state of Rajasthan.
This expansion is part of IHCL's strategy to strengthen its presence in key tourist destinations.
The town of Pushkar is home to spiritual heritage and revered pilgrimage sites, with the annual Pushkar camel fair attracting international tourists.
The 110-key resort, located near the Pushkar Lake and Brahma Temple, will feature a range of dining options, recreational facilities, and expansive event spaces.
It aims to cater to the diverse needs of its guests, offering amenities that include a swimming pool, gym, and spa, alongside 7,500ft² of ballroom and meeting areas suitable for various events.
IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: “Having pioneered tourism in the state, IHCL is committed to Rajasthan for over five decades.
“The debut in Pushkar marks the opening of a new circuit while leveraging our presence in the region. We are delighted to partner with Master Resorts and Spa Private Limited.”
Master Resorts and Spa director Chander Manghani said: “We are delighted to collaborate with IHCL, India’s leading hospitality company, to introduce the iconic Taj brand to Pushkar.
“The resort is poised to deliver a world-class hospitality experience to the guests visiting Pushkar.”
With this new property, IHCL's portfolio in Rajasthan will encompass 28 hotels across different brands, including eight that are currently under development.
Earlier this month, IHCL expanded its presence in West Bengal through a partnership with Merlin Group.
The upcoming SeleQtions branded hotel in Kolkata, named IBIZA – an IHCL SeleQtions, is expected to open its doors in October 2025, offering 130 rooms.
Additionally, IHCL recently announced that it will open its first property in Kollam, Kerala. The new Taj resort, with 205 rooms, will sit on a 13-acre site with nearly 600ft of beachfront along Thirumullavaram Beach.
