IHCL signs for third property in Dehradun, India

For this Taj-branded hotel, Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has teamed up with La Roche Hotels & Resorts.

IHCL has signed for a third property at Dehradun in the Indian state of Uttarakhand.

For this Taj-branded hotel, IHCL has teamed up with La Roche Hotels & Resorts, a partnership company with a business focus on the hospitality industry 

This brownfield project is located off Rajpur Road, which connects Dehradun to Mussoorie.

Its location is also close to Dehradun's commercial areas and tourist spots.

Once opened, the hotel will feature 215 guest rooms, an all-day diner, a bar, and a lobby lounge.

Among the recreational amenities to be offered at the hotel will include a spa, swimming pool, and fitness centre.

The hotel will have a banqueting area exceeding 8,000ft², including a pre-function space and meeting rooms.

IHCL real estate and development executive vice president Suma Venkatesh said: “This signing is in line with IHCL's vision of expanding its presence in key commercial and leisure destinations in India.

“Dehradun, with its thriving tourism, is also a major hub for education and software industries and is slated to grow in the coming years.

“We are delighted to announce our partnership with La Roche Hotels & Resorts for the development of this hotel.”

This new Taj Hotel in Dehradun is part of IHCL's plan to have ten hotels in Uttarakhand, including five in the pipeline across different brands comprising Taj, SeleQtions, Vivanta, and Ginger.

La Roche Hotels & Resorts partners Amarjeet Singh Juneja and Parvinder Preet Singh said: “We are excited to announce the collaboration with IHCL to bring a Taj branded hotel in the verdant foothills of Dehradun.

“The iconic brand has been rated India’s Strongest Brand across sectors and industries.”

Earlier this week, IHCL announced the signing of its first hotel at Itanagar in the Indian state of Arunachal Pradesh.

Located near Donyi Polo Airport, this greenfield property will open under the Vivanta brand, and feature 150 rooms.
