The Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) has continued its expansion by signing a new Taj-branded hotel in Gurugram in the Indian state of Haryana.
The hotel will offer 225 guest rooms and suites, an all-day diner, a bar, a speciality restaurant, and a multipurpose lounge.
The greenfield project will also include banqueting and meeting spaces, as well as recreational facilities such as a gym, spa, swimming pool, and a social garden.
IHCL real estate and development executive vice-president Suma Venkatesh said: “Gurgaon’s strategic location, coupled with its proximity to industrial corridors and Delhi-NCR, has made it a thriving commercial hub."
Armaan Gupta, executive director of hotel owner Tivoli Group, has incorporated international architects to create a design that complements the location.
Upon inclusion of the new property, IHCL's presence in Haryana will increase to six hotels, of which two are currently under development.
Armaan Gupta said: “We are excited to partner with IHCL for this project. Taj at Sohna Road will cater to the growing demand for luxury hospitality experiences."
The IHCL operates a global network of 340 hotels, including 112 under development.
Last week, the company launched Gateway, a full-service hotel brand offering in the upscale segment, with the opening of the first Gateway brand hotel in Bekal, Kerala.
IHCL recently also launched the 68-room Ginger Coimbatore Airport hotel in Tamil Nadu.
