Hospitality company Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has announced the signing of a new Taj-branded resort, its first property in Kollam, Kerala, India.
The resort, a Brownfield project, is set on a vast 13-acre site along the picturesque Thirumullavaram Beach, featuring nearly 600ft of beachfront.
The upcoming resort will offer 205 rooms, each providing stunning views of the Arabian Sea.
Guests can look forward to a range of amenities, including an all-day diner, a speciality vegetarian restaurant, a stylish bar, a spa, a swimming pool, and a gym.
The property also features more than 20,000ft² of banqueting space and expansive lawns, suitable for both corporate and social events.
The addition of this hotel will increase IHCL's portfolio to 20 properties across various brands in Kerala, including six that are currently under development.
IHCL managing director and CEO Puneet Chhatwal said: "With this signing, we further strengthen IHCL's longstanding presence in Kerala.
“As a historic seaport city renowned for its picturesque landscapes and cultural heritage, Kollam holds immense potential as a prominent tourist destination. It is also the southern gateway to the renowned backwaters of the state. We are pleased to collaborate with Mr Paul Chacko for this hotel."
The company has 310 hotels, including 92 under development globally across four continents, and 13 countries.
Last month, IHCL opened Scenic Munnar – IHCL SeleQtions, a 55-key property in Munnar, Kerela, India.
