IHG Hotels & Resorts has opened the first Hotel Indigo-branded property in Malaysia’s capital city, Kuala Lumpur (KL).
Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park is the 150th Hotel Indigo property worldwide.
The property features 180 rooms and various dining options.
The hotel has been designed by Malaysia-based designers GA Group, incorporating sustainable design.
The hotel’s lobby includes a living garden, a library, a staircase made from repurposed materials, and installations from recycled plastic bottles.
Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park also features Malaysian motifs such as tiffin carriers, Hap Seng cracker tins, rattan furniture motifs, and more.
Other amenities at the property include a fitness centre and an outdoor pool situated on the rooftop, as well as three event venues with one offering views of the KL Tower.
Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park general manager Ashleigh Garside said: “Hotel Indigo Kuala Lumpur on the Park celebrates the people, places and experiences that make the neighbourhood one-of-a-kind.
“The team is looking forward to creating a stay experience authentically local to our neighbourhood here in Kuala Lumpur for our guests and welcome those that live in the community into our space.”
The hotel provides access to nearby locations such as Bukit Nanas and KL Forest Eco Park.
The launch comes soon after IHG opened the Holiday Inn Jeddah Corniche in Saudi Arabia early in December, 2023.
Hotel Indigo has 278 hotels either open or in development worldwide, with four new hotels scheduled to open next year.
The hotels comprise Hotel Indigo Bandung Dago Pakar, Hotel Indigo Bintan Lagoi Beach, Hotel Indigo Jabal Al-Akhdar, Hotel Indigo Saigon and The City Hotel Indigo Palau.
IHG currently has 19 hotel brands with more than 6,200 open hotels across over 100 countries, as well as 2,000 properties in the development pipeline.
