IHG Hotels & Resorts has extended its partnership with Dinso Resort to launch the third Vignette Collection-branded property in Thailand.

This comes a year after the integration of Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection, into IHG's system.

Dinso Resort & Villas Koh Chang, Vignette Collection is scheduled to open next year.

It will join the existing Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection, and Sindhorn Midtown Bangkok, Vignette Collection, in the country.

The property, previously known as Emerald Resort Koh Chang, will undergo renovations and rebranding before joining IHG's system next year. It has been closed since February this year.

IHG Hotels & Resorts South East Asia and Korea development senior director Saowarin Chanprakaisi said: “It’s fantastic to be extending our partnership with the Dinso Resort team one year on from our first collaboration in Phuket which saw Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection benefit from IHG’s scale and enterprise quickly.”

Dinso Resort managing director Pattranit Mahattanawisit said: “The IHG team has been a great partner through the conversion of Dinso Resort & Villas Phuket, Vignette Collection and we believe the brand is a great fit for our properties, enabling us to retain the unique experiences and services the hotels provide while benefitting from IHG’s global and local expertise and enterprise.”

The beachfront property, situated on Klong Prao Beach on the eastern side of Koh Chang, will comprise 166 rooms.

It will also have five restaurants and bars, 750m² of meeting space, a fitness centre, a swimming pool and a spa.

The hotel’s location will provide guests access to locations and activities such as Koh Chang Marine National Park.

It is a five-hour drive from Bangkok, followed by a 15-minute ferry ride.

Vignette Collection currently has 18 hotels in development and aims to reach a total of 100 hotels by 2031.

Earlier this month, the company announced plans to open a beachfront resort in Kota Kinabalu, the capital of Sabah in northern Borneo, Malaysia.
