IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced the opening of its third Hotel Indigo brand property in Australia, Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders.

Located on Flinders Lane in Melbourne, the lifestyle hotel is owned and operated by Pro-Invest Group.

This property also marks the debut of Hotel Indigo in Melbourne.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders provides guests easy access to the laneway's culture, including street art, cafes, bars, boutiques and galleries.

The property boasts 216 guestrooms and features works by local artists and provides city views.

The hotel’s design, inspired by famous photographer Helmut Newton, pays tribute to photography with a lobby gallery and lounge filled with collected pieces and a selfie booth.

Its fitness centre is expected to open in October, while the event and meeting venues that could accommodate up to 200 guests will open by early 2024.

The hotel houses a streetside Spanish bar and restaurant called BESO, which serves Spanish tapas and a list of wines.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders general manager Joseph Simmons said: "We’re confident our intriguing Flinders Lane neighbourhood, the Helmut Newton inspired styling and stories of the city artfully weaved into everything we do will fascinate and inspire our guests to discover Melbourne in new ways."

IHG Hotels & Resorts is a hotel company with more than 6,000 hotels across 19 brands.

Currently, the boutique lifestyle brand Hotel Indigo has 143 open hotels and 128 more in the pipeline globally, with each hotel designed to reflect the local culture and popular trends.

Hotel Indigo Melbourne on Flinders is the latest addition to Australia, joining Hotel Indigo Brisbane City Centre and Hotel Indigo Adelaide Markets.

Hotel Indigo Sydney Potts is scheduled to open by the end of the year.
