In a move signalling its commitment to growth in secondary markets, IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Yuvaan Developers Private Limited to establish Holiday Inn Guwahati in India’s northeast region.
Set to welcome guests in January 2028, the 150-key hotel marks IHG’s strategic foray into Guwahati, capitalising on the rising demand for branded accommodation in burgeoning destinations.
Guwahati is a growing economic and tourist hub with thriving Special Economic Zones, industrial sectors and attractions including tea gardens and wildlife sanctuaries. The city's allure extends to both business and leisure travellers, positioning it as a prime investment destination.
Modern amenities in a prime location
Strategically positioned along Azara Road for easy access from Guwahati Airport and the city centre, Holiday Inn Guwahati will feature modern guest rooms, three dining options, a fitness centre and a pool. The hotel will also cater to corporate and social gatherings with four meeting rooms and a banquet hall.
Sudeep Jain, managing director, southwest Asia, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm in a statement for introducing the globally renowned Holiday Inn brand to Guwahati.
