IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a management agreement with Abu Estate for Holiday Inn-branded property in Tamil Nadu, India.
Holiday Inn Chennai Egmore is expected to commence operations in the first quarter of 2025 in Chennai.
It will have 92 guest rooms, targeting both leisure and business travellers.
It will include an all-day dining restaurant, a bar, a fitness centre, and a lobby lounge catering to diverse guest preferences.
The property will also offer event spaces, including a grand ballroom and breakout rooms for large and intimate social gatherings.
IHG Hotels & Resorts South-West Asia managing director Sudeep Jain said: “We are delighted to expand our mainstream brand from IHG’s essential portfolio, Holiday Inn in the key market of Chennai in partnership with Abu Estate.
“The city also benefits from demands generated by various technology and industrial parks in the vicinity, and we are confident to capitalise on the same and offer world-class IHG hospitality to our leisure and business travellers.”

The property’s location will provide guests access to nearby government offices, railway station, residential complexes, and landmark buildings.
Earlier this week, IHG extended its partnership with Dinso Resort to launch the third Vignette Collection-branded property in Thailand.
The company currently operates 45 hotels in India under five brands, with an additional 45 properties in the development pipeline, scheduled to open in the next three to five years.
