IHG to expand presence in Saudi Arabia with dual signing

IHG's move to open two hotels in Taif aligns with the Saudi government's investment in infrastructure.

IHG Hotels & Resorts has signed a deal with multi-activity real estate and investment company the Al Jumaiah Group to introduce two brands, Holiday Inn & Suites and Staybridge Suites, in Taif, Saudi Arabia.

The dual signing will add 280 rooms. Both hotels are set to open in late 2025.

Staybridge Suites Taif and Holiday Inn & Suites Taif will offer views and amenities, and will be part of IHG's loyalty programme, IHG One Rewards. 

Elevating Taif's hospitality scene

Taif, a key destination in Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, is experiencing growth in tourism and hospitality. Vision 2030 lays out targets for diversification and improving competitiveness.

IHG's move aligns with the Saudi government's investment in infrastructure to meet accommodation demand.

Strengthening partnerships and commitment  

Haitham Mattar, managing director for India, the Middle East, and Africa at IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed satisfaction in strengthening their partnership with the Al Jumaiah Group. 

“Saudi Arabia is a priority market for IHG. The continuous growth of our global portfolio within the Kingdom reflects our unwavering commitment to the vision of the leadership of the country and emphasises our dedication to support the Kingdom's ambitious transformation,” said Mattar in a statement.

With 40 hotels currently operating and a pipeline of 32 more set to open in the next two to five years, IHG continues to play a role in Saudi Arabia's evolving hospitality landscape.

Al Jumaiah Group's vision for hospitality

Abdulaziz Al Jumaiah, CEO of Al Jumaiah Group, highlighted the pleasure of deepening their collaboration with IHG Hotels & Resorts. The new signings in Taif complement their existing projects, affirming their dedication to supporting the growth of Saudi Arabia's tourism and hospitality sector.
