The International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) and Mayfair Hotels and Resorts have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at IIHM's upcoming campus in Siliguri, West Bengal, India.
The partnership aims to bolster education, training and industry collaboration to further elevate the quality of the country's future hospitality professionals.
The MoU’s objectives cover the creation of a Tourism and Hospitality Skill Council (THSC) issuing diplomas and certificates, Mayfair’s input into IIHM’s curriculum and the recruitment of IIHM students to entry-level positions in Mayfair's luxury hotels.
The MoU was signed by IIHM CEO and founder Dr Suborno Bose and Mayfair Hotels and Resorts chief human resources officer Pankaj Pradhan.
Mayfair president Manoj Gouda commented: "This MOU will help to add value to system and uplift the quality of the students, making them fit for the industry as well as for Mayfair.”
Mayfair currently operates 12 luxury hotels and has 3500 employees.
IIHM’s campus in Siliguri serves the growing tourist industry in West Bengal and offers students state-of-the-art infrastructure, training to develop industry-relevant skills, and networking opportunities across India. The institution is part of the Indismart Group, the conglomerate that operates Indismart Hotels.
