Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) has further expanded its presence in southern India by opening a new Ginger-branded property in Kochi, Kerala.
The newly opened property, Ginger Kochi, MG Road, boasts 73 guest rooms and amenities such as a fitness centre and a swimming pool.
In addition, it also has a meeting area and a banquet hall for events and celebrations.
IHCL CEO and managing director Puneet Chhatwal said: “The opening of Ginger Kochi, MG Road reaffirms our confidence in the significant potential of Kochi, Kerala’s commercial capital.
“It is also the key gateway for tourism into the state. This will be our second Ginger-branded hotel in the city reflective of the demand and multiple micro markets present in the city.”
Located on Mahatma Gandhi Road, the hotel is close to several popular Kochi attractions.
Ginger Kochi MG Road also features Qmin - an all-day diner that will serve culinary dishes.
With the opening of this property, IHCL will have a total of 17 hotels in Kerala, five of which are under construction.
Earlier in April, IHCL secured a contract from Cochin International Airport Limited to manage Taj CIAL, a five-star hotel on the premises of the Kochi airport, operated by IHCL’s luxury brand Taj.
